Dual Enrollment Programs
Dual enrollment is a term used to describe a high school student who is also enrolled in college courses. The program is free and the fees are currently waived. For all programs students must apply to the college and complete the college paperwork. High School Enrollment + College Enrollment = Dual Enrollment!
Sonora High School offers three types of Dual Enrollment Programs:
General Dual Enrollment/ Special Admit
Any student 13 years or older can be cleared by their Counselor to take college classes. See your high school Counselor for more information.
Middle College
Middle College is a Sonora High School Program in partnership with Columbia College designed for students who wish to pursue a higher education while completing their high school graduation requirements. Juniors and Seniors can be admitted into the program through an application process. They are required to take four classes on the Sonora High School campus and then are free to take classes at Columbia College. Students work very closely with the Middle College Counselor and Columbia College Counselor to make sure that they are taking classes applicable to high school graduation and their post high school goals.
CCAP, College and Career Access Pathways
These are college courses that are taught on the high school campus during the normal school day. Students who wish to participate in the CCAP program must gain approval from their parents as well as their Counselor.
